Network Load Analysis Software

NetLoadD provides a framework for time-based analysis of network load for specified devices. Using the output from /prov/net/dev, netloadd periodically examines the total transfer for a set interface, compares it against previous versions to allow a bytes/second analysis and acts according to it's confguration.

As of 1.5 netloadd can output this information to the console, a file in /tmp of the format /tmp/netloadd.device, syslog and a MySQL database carrying the relevant tables.

Development is in progress of either a socket-based or message-based (possibly both) system allowing real-time querying of the netloadd system for inclusion directly into script or CGI output.

A web-based frontend using PHP and a quick-but-dirty deep analysis C++ based CGI are in development for presentation of the MySQL data in a nice format.
